TCI Records its sixth Murder For 2021

The Turks and Caicos Islands have recorded its sixth murder with the shooting death of a man whose house was burglarized early Sunday.



The incident took place in the community of Kew Town.


According to police reports, 911 dispatchers received information of an aggravated burglary and shooting in the area just before 4:00 a.m.


The injured man succumbed to his injuries. It is not clear if he was pronounced dead at the scene or at the hospital.


The police also reported that at approximately 30 minutes after that shooting another aggravated burglary was reported at an adjoining community called Dock Yard. No one was injured in that incident.


It is unclear at this stage whether the crimes are linked.


The police said the two incidents are being investigated by Officers of the Serious Crimes Unit.
