TCI U15 Girls on Fire In the Concacaf Championship

The Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) Under-15 Girls' team has been making headlines at the Concacaf Female Under-15 Championship in Aruba, with standout performances led by their star player, Edna Jeanty.

The young forward has been in phenomenal form, scoring six goals across three games and cementing her position as a key player in the tournament.

Jeanty’s most impressive display came in TCI’s latest match against St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Thursday, August 8, where she scored all four goals in a 4-0 victory. The game saw Jeanty open the scoring in the 19th minute, quickly following up with her second goal just a minute later.

By the 27th minute, she had completed her hat trick, ensuring her team entered halftime with a comfortable 3-0 lead. Jeanty capped off her incredible performance by scoring her fourth goal in the 70th minute, sealing TCI’s biggest win of the competition to date.

The victory over St. Vincent and the Grenadines was a significant morale boost for the TCI girls, who have shown resilience and determination throughout the tournament. Jeanty, who plays for Teachers FC in the Provo Women’s Premiere League (WPL), has been the standout player for her team, showcasing her goal-scoring prowess and leadership on the field.

In their opening match, TCI faced Bonaire and secured a narrow 2-1 victory, with Jeanty once again leading the charge. She scored both goals within a three-minute span in the first half, finding the back of the net in the 32nd and 35th minutes. Her performance in that game set the tone for what has been an exceptional tournament for the young striker.

However, TCI faced a setback in their second game, where they were edged out 1-0 by Guadeloupe. Despite the loss, the TCI girls were highly competitive, demonstrating strong defensive play and creating several scoring opportunities. The match was a hard-fought battle, and the narrow margin of defeat highlighted the team’s ability to compete at a high level.

The TCI Under-15 Girls' team has shown tremendous growth and potential in this tournament, with Jeanty emerging as a star player to watch. Her ability to find the back of the net consistently has been a key factor in TCI’s performances, and she has quickly become one of the top scorers in the competition.

The Turks and Caicos Islands were scheduled to play against the Aruba All Stars on Friday, but the result of that match was not available at the time of reporting. Regardless of the outcome, the TCI girls have already made a strong impression at the Concacaf Female Under-15 Championship, with Jeanty’s remarkable goal-scoring feats serving as a highlight of their campaign.
