Team Hand Line Lands Top Inaugural Reel Deal Bottom Fishing Tourney

The inaugural Reel Deal Bottom Fishing Tournament proved to be a resounding success, bringing together anglers, families, businesses and supporters for a day of competition, community spirit and charitable giving.

Team Hand Line, comprising Joseph Musgrove, Zarek Swann, Pendieno Brooks and Javonio Fulford, emerged as the tournament's overall champions, earning first place and taking home the $2,000 cash prize after an impressive performance on the water.

The event exceeded organizers' expectations, with 13 boats competing in the friendly but spirited contest. Following the official weigh-in, more than 500 pounds of fresh fish were sold, with proceeds helping to support two local charities serving the communities of North and Middle Caicos.

Tournament organizers announced that the event raised $2,500 for charity, with $2,000 donated to Food for Thought and $500 presented to the Dignity Foundation.

Organizers described the tournament as more than just a fishing competition, saying it was designed to unite the community while creating a new tradition centered on giving back.

"What started as an idea to bring our community together through friendly competition and support worthy causes has exceeded all expectations," organizers said, expressing gratitude to the anglers, sponsors, volunteers, vendors, entertainers and supporters who helped make the event possible.

The festivities extended beyond the fishing competition, with live entertainment, food vendors and a lively atmosphere at the dock creating a family-friendly celebration throughout the day.

Organizers also praised the captains and crews whose participation helped make the inaugural tournament a memorable occasion, while thanking everyone who purchased fish after the weigh-in, noting that every purchase directly contributed to the charitable donations.

With the overwhelming support received during its first year, organizers are already looking ahead to an even bigger event next year, with plans to welcome more boats, larger crowds and an even greater impact on the community.
