Two Killed in Police Confrontation During Warrant Execution in Blue Hills

 Two individuals are believed to be deceased following a confrontation with police officers during the execution of a warrant in the Blue Hills area on Wednesday evening, according to the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF).


Acting Commissioner of Police Rodney Adams confirmed that officers were operating just north of Millennium Highway when the incident occurred. Speaking from the scene, Adams stated that police came under gunfire while carrying out their lawful duties.


“During the course of their duty, an officer received minor injuries and came under fire,” Adams said. “Officers returned fire and two persons are down, believed to be deceased.”


Emergency services responded to the scene, which was immediately secured as an active crime scene. The injured officer was treated for minor injuries, and there was no immediate indication of life-threatening harm.


Authorities have not yet released the identities of the deceased, pending formal notifications and confirmation by medical officials. Details regarding the nature of the warrant and the circumstances leading up to the confrontation have also not been disclosed at this time.


Police investigators remain on the scene, and the incident will be subject to standard investigative and oversight procedures. The Acting Commissioner assured the public that further information will be shared as it becomes available.
