Sean Walters Ends FINA World Juniors With Two Personal Bests

National Junior swimmer Sean Walters ended the Turks and Caicos Islands participation at the FINA World Junior Swimming Championship in Lima, Peru with magnificent Personal Bests in the 50m breast stroke and the 100m freestyle heats, on Saturday, September 3.


Competing from lane 6, Sean appeared to have left everything in the pool with a magnificent third place finish in a time of 36.67 seconds, erasing his previous Personal Best of of 37.13 seconds.


Earlier, Sean recorded a Personal Best in the 100m freestyle when he raced to 102.93, which was previously 102.96.


His performance culminated a stellar show from the TCI team, comprising young Walters and Tahjari Williams, both of whom recorded personal best times.

Tajhari, who competed in one of the 100m freestyle heats, posted 1:1.95 seconds. His Personal Best is 1:01.95 seconds.


Vender Walters, a member of the delegation and mother of Sean Walters, said they were all pleased with their performance of the duo, who.


“The athletes performed well, achieved some PBs and got to meet other athletes from around the world. We are very proud of them and hope that their experiences will continue to motivate them and other TCI youth,” Walters said.

The competition ends on September 4.

Both Sean and Tajhari are coached by National Swimming Coach, Ezekiel Hall.
