Officers from the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF) have apprehended a fugitive wanted in Jamaica for serious criminal offences, including a murder investigation.

Alex Anthony McDonald, 31, a Jamaican national, was taken into custody after being spotted at Sapodilla Beach in the Chalk Sound area of Providenciales. Acting swiftly, members of the Tactical Unit moved in and detained McDonald without incident.

Subsequent checks confirmed that McDonald had entered the Turks and Caicos Islands illegally. He was later charged by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) with Unlawful Entry.

Further intelligence received by local detectives revealed that McDonald is wanted by the Jamaica Constabulary Force in connection with an ongoing murder probe. The RT&CIPF is continuing investigations and is liaising with regional partners and Interpol to advance the case.

Authorities are also exploring the possibility that McDonald may be linked to criminal activities within the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The public is urged to report any suspicious or illegal activity anonymously by contacting the nearest police station, dialing 911, calling the Serious Crime Unit at 231-1842, or reaching out to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477. Individuals can also submit tips using the Crime Stoppers P3 app.
