Energy Minister and Member of Parliament for the Wheeland Constituency Hon. Kyle Knowles expressed alarm at the murder of a woman in Wheeland earlier Monday night – November 4.
Up until post time, crime sleuths were at the scene combing the area for clues. The police stated that were called to a scene in the area where they discovered the lifeless body of the female.
The police said they would offer a more detailed report of the incident later.
“To the residents of Wheeland and the Turks and Caicos at large, it is with a heavy heart I come to you as we confront the tragic and senseless murder that has taken place within our constituency,” Minister Knowles stated. “This is such a shocking and alarming event which took place in our quiet community.”
He further noted: “The loss of life is always tragic, and my deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim during this incredibly difficult time. This is not the time for us to be spreading negativity, bashing one another or casting blame as the life of a female resident was lost.”
He pointed out that violence has no place in the Turks and Caicos Islands, calling on the community to work in tandem to ensure that neighborhoods remain safe for all residents.
“As your Member of Parliament my priority is to work tirelessly with law enforcement to ensure that justice is served swiftly. I urge anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
