Ahead of the much-anticipated CARIFTA Track and Field, and Aquatics Games, executives of the track and field and swim teams have expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Women In Sports organization for their generous support towards female athletes.
The presentations occurred at the National Stadium on Monday afternoon, just a day before some of the athletes embarked on their journey to the games. Women In Sports went above and beyond by not only providing care packages filled with essential personal hygiene items, including toothpaste, but also by contributing $1,000 to the track and field team to assist with expenses.

Edith Cox, Vice President of Women In Sports, underscored the organization's commitment to the holistic development of female athletes and their readiness to contribute in any way possible. "We are here to present them with care packages that they can take on their flights with them. They are all of the items that they need, and they are small enough to go through security," Cox explained.
She continued, "So we're really happy, Women In Sports, that we were able to procure these items for the girls for this year. And in addition to that, as promised last year, we've had fundraisers and most recently we had a run here in Provo and one in Grand Turk."

Edith Skippings, President of the Turks and Caicos Islands Amateur Athletics (TCAAA), expressed her gratitude for the support received, stating, "We're so happy to be here this evening, receiving our presentation from Women In Sports."
Roydoya Alleyne, Team Manager for the Turks and Caicos Islands Swim Federation CARIFTA Swim Team, also conveyed appreciation for the thoughtful gestures. "The Turks and Caicos Islands Swim Federation. Our team is consistent of classes of 10 girls. So that would be really helpful for them during their travels," Alleyne remarked.
With the CARIFTA Track and Field Championships set to take place in Grenada from March 29 to April 1, and the CARIFTA Aquatics Championship scheduled in Nassau, Bahamas from March 28 to April 7, the support provided by Women In Sports comes at a crucial time, ensuring that female athletes are well-equipped and supported as they represent the Turks and Caicos Islands on the regional stage.
