Bahamians Charged With Forging Negative COVID Test Results

Two Bahamian Nationals have been charged by local authorities after it was suspected that they forged their negative PCR COVID-19 certificate.

The incident reportedly took place on Providenciales, according to the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force.


The police did not give the names of the men, only stating that they were two males, one of whom is 38 and the other 23.


According to the police, the two men were scheduled to travel to the Bahamas on Sunday, July 4, 2021, but presented forged documents to officials at the Providenciales Airport.


After examinations of the documents, it was suspected that they were forged. Both men were immediately arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of uttering forged documents.


The two were later given police bail in the sum of $2,500.00 each and are scheduled to appear in the Magistrate's Court on Monday, July 12, 2021, to answer the charge.
