 Beach Enclave Gifts TCICC $2500 Towards Academic Trip

Beach Enclave Resort has gifted the TCI Community College with $2500 cheque to assist with an upcoming educational overseas trip by the Faculty of Business.

 

Jeanelle Baron of the Community College stated that the trip will take the faculty of between 10 and 12 students, to Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago. She stated that the trip is geared towards enriching the students’ academic experience and preparing them for future success.

 

“Educational tours are valuable investments in the future of TCIC students. As the aim is to provide a unique blend of academic enrichment, personal development and practical skill building, preparing them to become well-rounded graduates and successful professionals, entrepreneurs, whatever they want to be successful in a global world,” she said.

 

She added: “Hence we depend on our community of donors for their support, is instrumental in making this unique learning opportunity a reality. This specific tour will allow business administration students to gain invaluable first-hand experience and insight to the rest of the Caribbean and its development and the countries have been outlined.”

Tanishka Kennedy of Beach Enclave stated that her company is committed to the improvement of education in the Turks and Caicos Islands , while thanking the Community College for the job that they are doing with the students.

 

Kennedy, a past student at the college, the idea to forge an alliance with the Community College was the brainchild of its CEO, Vasco Borges. She said the idea to support the Community College was Beach Enclave’s way of tackling the skills gap currently exists in the Turks and Caicos Islands.


Dr. Stacy-Ann Lawrence, Chair of Faculty of Business said the trip is one way the faculty gets to prepare its students with the wealth of knowledge and experience needed to jumpstart their careers in a dynamic society.

She pointed out that as lecturers, they saw the need for the students’ horizons to be widened, noting that the tours allow students to align themselves with reality.


“We will visit the Barbados of Stock Exchange, the Caribbean Development Bank, and this is the environment, and we will also visit the Barbados Community College. We will then hop over to Trinidad, where we will visit the Security Exchange,” said.


Dr. Lawrence further pointed out that the group will also travel to Tobago, where they will venture on road tour with the tourism department, across the island.


“In order for us to accomplish this, of course, we need financial support. On behalf of my faculty members, we are grateful for your support. This partnership is one that will bring us closer to our goal and objectives, as we look forward to our 7th Annual Educational Tour,” Lawrence said.
