Beaches CC, SC Reminisce On Way Forward In Work And Play

The Beaches Turks and Caicos Cricket Club (BTCCC) and the Sports Club took time to reminisce on a successful season in the recently held Turks and Caicos Islands Cricket (TCI) Association T20 competition and the TCI Red Cross Red Hot Challenge.


With support from Beaches Turks and Caicos (BTC), the sporting disciplines were able to enjoy balancing work and play in a healthy and meaningful way.

For the BTCCC, at the end of the T20 Cricket competition, Anthony ‘Moses’ McKnight walked away with Top Runs Scorer and the man of the series trophies while Claude Williams received the Top Wicket Taker award.


When asked about their experience while working and representing the resort in sports, McKnight, a butler, shared, “the teamwork and camaraderie worked well for us. The managers at the resort help to inspire hope within us as more than just a philosophy but a purpose. We remain one team and operate as a family whether at the resort or on the field.”

Claude Williams highlighted how the success of the team has been spurred by the support of the resort. “Our success on the field is just as important as off the field. As hospitality professionals, we believe and practice the skills that we have gained here at BTC in working as a team by providing the best in everything that we do.

The support that we have received over the many years from leaders at the resort gave us the additional drive to always give of our best as we represent a global brand at all times.”


The two teams representing BTC in the Red Cross Red Hot Challenge walked away with the championship and the team spirit trophies. The teams competed in all the events that were held namely, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, planking, tug-o-war, egg-tossing, arm wrestling, corn-hole toss, hula-hoop among others.

Looking back at the conclusion of the events, Romaine Adams, sports club executive shared: “As we continue with enthusiasm on our way forward, we celebrate our different achievements at all times. As a sports club, we are involved in many sporting activities that happen in TCI with full support from our leaders and colleagues.


“Being able to participate in these activities is added motivation as we blend work and play in the overall development of each team member. We are happy with each opportunity to represent our amazing resort.”
