Child Mowed Down By Car In Leeward Palms, Dies

The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF) is investigating a tragic traffic accident that claimed the life of a seven-year-old boy on Palm Well Drive in Leeward Palms.


According to police reports, at approximately 1:01 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2025, the Police Control Room received a report of a serious collision involving a child. According to initial information, the young boy reportedly ran into the path of an oncoming vehicle.


The vehicle was being driven by a 43-year-old woman, who stopped immediately, rendered assistance, and contacted the police.


The child was rushed to Cheshire Hall Medical Centre (CHMC) by his parents, where he was assessed by medical personnel. Despite efforts to save him, he was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival at the Emergency Room.


The RTCIPF extends heartfelt condolences to the child's family and loved ones during this time of immense grief.


The Traffic Enforcement Unit is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.


It is not immediately clear whether the driver was charged with the death of the child.
