Young participants at The Salt Rakers Aquatic Club will benefit from continued swimming lessons throughout the remainder of 2026 following a recent $2,500 donation.

The contribution from CIBC Caribbean will help provide continued access to valuable swim instruction while promoting water safety education, confidence and healthy development among youth.
Founded by Benneth Williams, Salt Rakers Aquatic Club has established itself as a trusted space for swimmers of all ages and abilities to learn, grow and build confidence in the water. Through his learn-to-swim programmes, swimming lessons, competitive training, and aquatic fitness activities, he creates opportunities for young people to develop valuable life skills in a safe, supportive and encouraging environment.
“Swimming is more than a recreational activity, but it is a critical life skill, especially in a country surrounded by water” said Carolaen Paula Rodriguez Business Support Officer at CIBC Caribbean, after officials from the bank made the donation.
Tamyra Missick Corporate Manager at CIBC Caribbean stated, “At CIBC Caribbean, we are committed to investing in programmes that create meaningful opportunities for young people”.
“We are pleased to support Salt Rakers Aquatic Club and the remarkable work Benneth Williams is doing to ensure more young people have access to swimming instruction and water safety education” said Alonzo Higgs Corporate Manager at CIBC Caribbean.
Williams expressed his appreciation for the donation, noting that the support will help the club to continue foster more students in receiving instruction and training. He further mentioned that access to swimming lessons can be life-changing for many children.
Furthermore, he said that his goal is to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn how to swim, gain confidence in the water and develop skills that promote both safety and personal growth.
The donation aligns with CIBC Caribbean’s ongoing efforts to support programmes that foster youth empowerment, education, health and community development throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands.
