As part of the ongoing 2021 Hurricane Preparedness Campaign, the Department of Disaster Management and Emergencies has launched two (2) competitions to encourage members of the Turks and Caicos Islands to mitigate and prepare for the 2021 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
Using the theme “Investing in Mitigation and Preparedness today for a better tomorrow” persons can:
1. Enter the PSA Video Competition, opened to all members of the public, by creating a memorable Jingle or Public Service Announcements (PSAs) on Hurricane Preparedness that will be posted on DDME’s Facebook, for voting. The top 3 videos with the most likes, wins a special prize. And/or
2. Enter the Poetry Slam Video Competition, opened to all High school and College Students in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Register and submit your Spoken word Poetry performance by May 28th 2021.
