Mandatory Child Safeguarding Training for Community Cab Drivers

The Department of Family and Children Services wishes to inform the general public that all individuals who have registered, or intend to register, as Community Cab Drivers are required to complete mandatory Child Safeguarding Training with the Department of Family and Children Services.

This training is essential as Community Cab Drivers will be responsible for transporting minors, including children who may be vulnerable to abuse, neglect, exploitation, or harm. As such, drivers have both a legal and ethical responsibility to help protect children and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns. The training will equip drivers with the knowledge and skills to recognise signs of abuse, understand their safeguarding responsibilities, and ensure the safety and well-being of every child in their care.

All Community Cab Drivers are required to register in advance by scanning the official QR Code provided. Registration is mandatory to attend the training and to remain eligible to operate as a Community Cab Driver.

The Department of Family and Children Services remains committed to safeguarding all children and ensuring that those entrusted with their transportation are properly trained and prepared to protect them.
