A heavy police presence remains in North Caicos after the seizing of a huge quantity of marijuana on Saturday.
Arising from the incident, 3 people have been taken into custody, 1 a Jamaican national, and a North Caicos couple.
According to the reports, the police, acting on information, went to a home in Kew, North Caicos where they executed a search during which they found a large quantity of marijuana. Four persons were suspected to be involved. The police detained three but one managed to escape.
It is alleged that there might have been an international drug ring between the United States and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
The police are continuing the investigation as they try to locate the fourth individual.
