The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) has recovered two illegal firearms during a targeted search operation in Blue Hills, underscoring ongoing efforts to stem the flow of weapons into communities.

Around 10:30 p.m. on October 30, officers executed an Authority to Search at a residence along Millennium Highway. During the search, they discovered two Taurus 9mm pistols, two loaded magazines, and several masks, gloves, and other items believed to be connected to criminal activity.

A 27-year-old man was taken into custody and is assisting investigators.

This latest recovery brings the total number of firearms seized in 2025 to 21, and marks the third weapon confiscation in October. According to police, the distribution of this year’s firearm recoveries is as follows:

  • Blue Hills – 10

  • Five Cays – 4

  • Kew Town – 4

  • Grace Bay – 1

  • Grand Turk – 1

  • North Caicos – 1

The RT&CIPF reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance against illegal guns, noting that every firearm removed from circulation represents a prevented tragedy and a step toward safer communities.

Police urge anyone with information on illegal firearms to contact the nearest police station, 911, the Serious Crime Unit at 231-1842, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477. Reports can also be submitted anonymously through the Crime Stoppers P3 app.
