InterHealth Canada Terminates TCI Hospital Contract Over Alleged Non-Payment

News Release InterHealth Canada today regrets to announce that it has had no option but to terminate its contract to provide healthcare services in the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI). This follows the failure of the Turks and Caicos Islands Government ("TCIG") to meet its contractual payment obligations.

To ensure continuity of care for patients, InterHealth Canada will continue providing healthcare services throughout the contractual handover period while responsibility for the hospitals is transferred to TCIG.

InterHealth Canada and its subsidiaries have proudly provided internationally accredited diamond status healthcare services to the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands and their visitors since the hospital was opened in 2010.

Since the beginning of 2025, TCIG has failed to make all payments due to InterHealth Canada. Despite not receiving all of the required payments for more than 18 months, InterHealth Canada has continued providing the services required to keep the hospital operating safely.

Regrettably, it is no longer possible for InterHealth Canada to continue providing these services indefinitely without payment. InterHealth Canada has therefore been left with no alternative but to terminate the contract.

This is not an outcome InterHealth Canada has sought. It has done everything reasonably possible to avoid disruption to healthcare services and will continue to fulfil its contractual obligations throughout the agreed handover period to help ensure continuity of care for patients.
