Hynetta Karen Forbes, the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) Caretaker/Candidate for South Caicos is taking credit for recommissioning of the Automatic Teller Machine (ATM), which has been down for some time.
In a news release, Forbes also revealed that a new machine to replace the current ATM was on its way from the Dominican Republic. The following is Forbes’ statement on the ATM rebooting:
After publicly complaining and reaching out to the press and the Manager of Scotia Bank less than a month ago, I am absolutely thrilled to report that after numerous follow ups and speaking with the Manager again today June 24, 2024, I received fantastic news!
The joy and excitement I feel right now are beyond words. It's such a relief to know that the issue has been resolved and that the ATM machine for Scotiabank in South Caicos is up and running smoothly again (see photos attached).
The sense of accomplishment and satisfaction I have from this positive outcome is truly uplifting. It's a great example of how effective communication, follow ups and collaboration can lead to successful results.
I am grateful for the swift action taken by the Manager and her team to address the situation promptly.
I am delighted to share that a new ATM machine has been purchased in the Dominican Republic and has already been shipped. It is currently on its way to Turks and Caicos. This news fills me with even more happiness and anticipation for the enhanced services that the new machine will bring to the community.
This experience serves as a reminder of the power of persistence and the importance of following up on matters that are important to us (not just write and forget).
I couldn't be happier to share this wonderful news with everyone. It's a testament to what can be achieved when we work together towards a common goal. Cheers to progress and all who made calls as well.
