Police Identify Grand Turk Murder Victim as Ashanio Robinson

Police have identified the man killed in Grand Turk on Thursday as Ashanio Robinson, as investigators continue to pursue those responsible for his death.

The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF), in its latest update on Thursday, confirmed Robinson's identity and said additional resources have been deployed to assist with the murder investigation.

The announcement follows an earlier update from police confirming that the man found near the Overback Basketball Court on Thursday morning had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and that his death was being investigated as a murder.

According to police, detectives from the Serious Crime Unit, supported by Forensic and other specialist resources, are actively pursuing all available lines of inquiry.

The RTCIPF is now specifically appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, has information about the killing, or possesses video footage that may assist investigators to come forward. Police said even seemingly minor information could prove critical to the investigation.

The Force also extended condolences to Robinson's family, friends and loved ones.
