The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF) has taken a major step toward strengthening national security through collaborative efforts with the private security sector.

Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey and members of his Executive Team held a strategic meeting on November 17, 2025, with representatives from leading private security firms to establish a unified approach to crime prevention and public safety across the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The high-level meeting included Acting Deputy Commissioner Kenny Grant and Acting Assistant Commissioner Dwight Gardiner. Private-sector participants included representatives from Fortress Security, WC Security Services, and Spence Security, among them Dave Ryder, Brian Swann, Evan Spencer, Jerard Spencer, and John Olivera.

Discussions centered on enhancing professional partnerships, streamlining communication, and improving the overall efficiency of security operations. Both parties agreed that a coordinated and regulated security framework is essential to building trust and improving outcomes across the industry.

Commissioner Bailey noted that several proposals aligned with existing policies, emphasizing that “there is no need to reinvent the wheel.” He highlighted the importance of revisiting the Security Guard Ordinance and establishing a robust regulatory process to support the sector.

With the holiday season approaching, stakeholders also explored coordinated Christmas safety strategies and potential joint training initiatives between private security personnel and the RTCIPF to bolster preparedness.

Commissioner Bailey described the meeting as a catalyst for a more proactive and unified security environment. “This session marks the beginning of a stronger, forward-looking partnership between two professional sectors committed to the safety and security of the Turks and Caicos Islands,” he said.
