Police Searching for Owner of Illegal Firearm Seized in Grand Turk Operation

Police are searching for the owner of an illegal firearm recovered during a targeted operation in Grand Turk.

 


Officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) seized the weapon on Saturday, March 14, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt criminal activity and enhance public safety.

 

Shortly after 12 p.m., a team of detectives, supported by Tactical Unit officers, conducted a search operation in the Over Back community. During the exercise, officers discovered a Glock pistol fitted with an extended magazine, along with several rounds of ammunition.

 

No arrests have been made, and investigations remain ongoing as police work to identify and locate the individual responsible for the weapon.

 

This latest seizure marks the third illegal firearm recovered by the RT&CIPF for 2026. Two of the previous recoveries were made in Providenciales, while this most recent find occurred in Grand Turk.

 

The RT&CIPF has reaffirmed its commitment to removing illegal firearms from communities and is urging members of the public to assist by sharing any information related to illegal weapons or other criminal activity.
