Premier Welcomes Appointment of UK Overseas Territories Minister Uma Kumaran

The Honourable Charles Washington Misick, Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands, has welcomed the appointment of Uma Kumaran MP as the United Kingdom's Minister for the Overseas Territories, extending his congratulations on behalf of the Government and people of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

"I warmly welcome the appointment of Uma Kumaran MP as the United Kingdom's Minister for the Overseas Territories.

The relationship between the Turks and Caicos Islands and the United Kingdom is one of longstanding constitutional partnership, founded on mutual respect, shared democratic values, and our collective commitment to good governance, security, and the wellbeing of our people.

My Government looks forward to working closely with Minister Kumaran to build upon the strong foundation of cooperation that already exists between our Governments. Together, we will continue advancing our shared priorities, including strengthening good governance, enhancing security and public safety, promoting sustainable economic development, building resilience to climate change, and creating greater opportunities for the people of these Beautiful by Nature Islands.
