The turquoise waters of Grace Bay will come alive with energy and competition on Saturday, March 28, 2026, as the Salt Rakers Aquatic Club stages its highly anticipated Open Water Swimming Competition.

Set to begin at 8:30 a.m. from Rickie’s Flamingo Café, the event promises an exciting morning of endurance, speed, and community spirit, bringing together swimmers of all ages and skill levels.

Participants will have the opportunity to compete in four race categories, 2K, 1K, 500 meters, and 100 meters, offering something for both seasoned open-water athletes and newcomers eager to test their abilities in the ocean.

The event is expected to draw a vibrant mix of local talent and visiting competitors, with swimmers launching from the shoreline and navigating marked courses in the crystal-clear waters that have made Grace Bay world-renowned. Organizers have also emphasized safety and support, with clearly visible buoys, supervision, and coordination to ensure a smooth race experience.

Beyond competition, the event highlights the Salt Rakers Aquatic Club’s continued commitment to promoting swimming, fitness, and water safety across the Turks and Caicos Islands. The club has been instrumental in developing young swimmers and fostering a culture of aquatic excellence in the territory.

Spectators can look forward to an engaging atmosphere, with cheering crowds lining the beach and dock areas as swimmers race toward the finish.
