Sheena Stubbs Appointed Vice Principal of Louise Garland-Thomas High School

The Office of the Deputy Governor has appointed Ms Sheena Stubbs as Vice-Principal of the Louise Garland Thomas High School.



Stubbs joined the Turks and Caicos Islands Civil Service in 2008 as a Home Economics Teacher at the Clement Howell High School after successfully completing her Teaching Diploma in Human Ecology at the Shortwood Teachers College and Bachelors of Education at the University of Technology, Jamaica in Technical Vocational Education Training.


In 2011 she migrated to the United Kingdom where she was employed as a Design Technology Teacher at an ARK Academy in Brixton, London until 2014 when she returned to the TCI.


In 2015 she re-joined the public service as a Home Economics Teacher at the Louise Garland Thomas High School.


In 2016 she served as the school’s Dean and in 2019 she was promoted to the post of Head of Department to oversee and manage the teachers in the Technical and Business Studies subject areas within the institution.


Stubbs completed a Master’s of Science degree, specializing in Management and Administration of Educational Programs at the Nova Southeastern University of Florida.


Commenting on her appointment Stubbs stated:


“It gives me great pleasure to give God Almighty all the honor, praise and adoration due to His Name!


“I am honored for this opportunity to serve as my students are the heartbeat of my career and have motivated me throughout.


“With my energy, enthusiasm and focus on providing quality education to the students of the Turks and Caicos Islands, our institution will achieve greater excellence.


“I believe that with the right learning environment, students will successfully perform. Therefore, my goal is to put emphasis upon student achievement by formulating challenging, caring and supportive environmental conditions that are conducive to student learning.


“I am committed to the vision, mission and core values of the Ministry of Education and I look forward to collaborating with all stakeholders in achieving not only the school’s, but the country’s educational objectives.”


Deputy Governor and Head of the Public Service Her Excellency Anya Williams in extending congratulations to Stubbs stated:


“It gives me great pleasure to congratulate Ms. Sheena Stubbs on her appointment to the post of Vice Principal of the Louise Garland-Thomas High School.


The Louise Garland-Thomas High School now in its 6th year of operation, is one of the largest schools on the island of Providenciales with over 600 registered students.


“Ms. Stubbs has been a member of staff at the institution since its inception and has demonstrated a strong commitment to the school and its students.


We are certain that she will do extremely well in assisting the newly appointed Principal Mrs. Kordell Campbell-Forbes in the leadership and management of the L.G.T.H.S. going forward and wish her our personal best.”
