Sonia Fulford Re-Elected Unopposed To Lead TCIFA For Another Four Years

Sonia Fulford has secured another four-year term as President of the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association (TCIFA) after being re-elected unopposed during the Association's Congress held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the TCIFA National Academy.

Fulford's re-election was accompanied by the unopposed return of four Council Members, Paula Garland, Patrick Baptist, Kenneth Adams and Jamaine Malcolm, as delegates unanimously endorsed the leadership team to continue guiding football development across the Turks and Caicos Islands through 2030.

The uncontested elections reflected the confidence TCIFA members have in the current administration, which has overseen significant progress in youth football, coaching and referee education, competition management, governance, and infrastructure development over the past four years.

Addressing delegates following her re-election, Fulford expressed gratitude for the continued support shown by the football community.

"It is a privilege to continue serving the football community of the Turks and Caicos Islands," she said. "I am grateful for the confidence placed in us by our members and stakeholders. Together, we will continue to build on the progress achieved over recent years and work toward creating even greater opportunities for our players, coaches, referees, administrators, clubs and football families throughout the islands."

The annual Congress brought together delegates, stakeholders and members of the local football fraternity to review the Association's accomplishments over the past year and discuss priorities for the future. Reports presented during the meeting highlighted continued growth in grassroots and youth football programmes, advancements in technical education, improvements in governance, and ongoing efforts to strengthen football infrastructure nationwide.

Delegates also discussed strategic initiatives aimed at expanding participation, enhancing player development pathways, improving technical standards, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of football throughout the country.

With a renewed mandate, the re-elected Council has pledged to continue strengthening football at all levels while maintaining a focus on good governance, member support and creating opportunities for athletes to reach their full potential.

Delegates acknowledged the progress made under the outgoing term and expressed optimism about the future direction of the Association under Fulford's continued leadership.
