Sports Commission Launches Athlete Pathway Information Series to Guide Student-Athletes
The Turks and Caicos Islands Sports Commission is promoting greater awareness of collegiate sports opportunities through its Athlete Pathway Information Series, an initiative designed to provide practical guidance to student-athletes, parents, coaches and teachers navigating the college recruitment process.

The series will cover key areas of the collegiate athlete journey, including college recruitment, admissions, eligibility requirements, scholarships, athlete profiles and student-athlete success. It will also address student-athlete visas, including Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) requirements, as well as integration support for those pursuing educational and sporting opportunities abroad.
The programme will feature three speakers with expertise in different aspects of the student-athlete pathway: Heaven Bowman, who will focus on community and parent resources; Eric Stang, who will provide insight into recruiting strategy and athlete profiles; and Coach Frank Hyland, who will address SEVIS, visa and integration support.
Through these sessions, the Sports Commission aims to equip aspiring collegiate athletes and their support networks with information to better understand the requirements, opportunities and challenges associated with competing at the collegiate level.
The initiative also highlights the importance of parental involvement, effective recruitment strategies and proper preparation in helping student-athletes make informed decisions about their academic and sporting futures.
Parents, coaches and teachers are encouraged to participate alongside student-athletes to gain a clearer understanding of the steps involved in pursuing college sports opportunities.
Interested persons can register by scanning the QR code featured on the promotional flyer or by visiting www.gov.tc/sports for more information.
The Athlete Pathway Information Series provides an opportunity for the local sporting community to access practical guidance and better prepare young athletes for success beyond the Turks and Caicos Islands.
