Teachers FC Edges SWA Sharks in Thriller as Scott Fires Cheshire Hall to Big Win

Teachers FC staged a spirited comeback to defeat SWA Sharks FC 3-2 in an exciting Under-16 Girls clash, while Cheshire Hall FC's Kommalapate Scott delivered a stunning four-goal performance to headline the Under-16 Boys action during last weekend's Pelican Energy Youth League matches at the TCIFA Playing Field in Providenciales.

The girls' contest provided the most dramatic encounter of the weekend, with SWA Sharks racing into an early two-goal lead before Teachers FC responded with three unanswered goals to secure a hard-fought victory.

SWA Sharks wasted little time asserting themselves as Fred Line Brave found the back of the net twice in the opening five minutes, scoring in the second and fifth minutes to give her side what appeared to be a commanding advantage.

Teachers FC, however, refused to be rattled by the early setback. Learning Martinez sparked the comeback in the 10th minute, reducing the deficit to 2-1 and shifting the momentum in her team's favour.

The equaliser came just before the halftime whistle when Wanderli Medinas scored in first-half stoppage time (20+1), sending the teams into the break locked at 2-2.

With the match finely balanced, Briangely Meises produced the decisive moment in the 38th minute, firing home the winner to complete Teachers FC's impressive comeback and seal a 3-2 victory.

Meises' influential display earned her the Most Valuable Player award for Teachers FC after she not only netted the winning goal but also played a pivotal role in leading her team's second-half effort. The match was played without any cautions.

The Under-16 Boys division saw Cheshire Hall FC produce a dominant display against Provo United FC, cruising to a comfortable 4-0 victory behind an outstanding individual performance from Kommalapate Scott.

Scott was virtually unstoppable throughout the opening half, scoring all four goals before the interval to put the contest beyond doubt.

He opened the scoring in the sixth minute before doubling Cheshire Hall's advantage in the 17th minute. The prolific striker completed his hat-trick in the 24th minute and capped a remarkable first-half display with his fourth goal in the 35th minute.

Cheshire Hall entered the halftime break with a commanding 4-0 lead and successfully maintained that advantage through the second half to secure all three points.

Scott's four-goal haul earned him the Most Valuable Player award for Cheshire Hall FC, while Provo United's Gervens Mathurin was recognised as his team's MVP for his efforts despite the defeat.

In the weekend's other Under-16 Boys fixture, SWA Sharks FC recorded a convincing 3-0 victory over Beaches FC.

The Sharks established control of the match during the first half with two quick goals. Jonathan Malabre opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before Sharaad Goddard doubled the advantage just one minute later in the 24th minute.

SWA Sharks maintained their 2-0 lead for much of the second half before Edin Dieudome added a third goal in the 57th minute to put the result beyond doubt and complete the 3-0 triumph.

Although the match featured no goals for Beaches FC, it was more physical than the other contests, with three players receiving cautions. Emanome Jean was booked in the 11th minute, Xavier Carry received a caution in the 28th minute, and Charlie Thornhill was shown a yellow card two minutes later in the 30th minute.

Samuel Desronvil was named the Most Valuable Player for SWA Sharks following his all-round contribution to the team's victory, while Louriensley Valen earned MVP honours for Beaches FC.

The latest round of Pelican Energy Youth League matches continued to showcase the growing talent within the Turks and Caicos Islands' youth football programme, with exciting attacking football, standout individual performances and spirited competition across both the boys' and girls' divisions.
