Two men have been found guilty of the 2024 murder of Evason Walkin, also known as "Archie," following a three-week trial in the Grand Turk Supreme Court.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) confirmed that Jevano Arthur and Archley Forbes, both of Residence Yard, Five Cays, Providenciales, were convicted of Mr. Walkin's murder.
The convictions were returned on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
According to police, Mr. Walkin was killed on October 10, 2024, in the vicinity of Club Med Yard, Five Cays, Providenciales.
The court has scheduled sentencing for September 21, 2026.
Acting Commissioner of Police Rodney Adams welcomed the verdict, describing it as an important step toward justice for the victim and his family.
"These convictions send a clear message that those responsible for taking a life will be relentlessly pursued and brought to justice. While no verdict can erase the pain suffered by the victim's family, we hope this outcome provides a measure of justice.
"I commend our investigators, prosecutors, witnesses, and all who contributed to this successful prosecution. The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force remains unwavering in its commitment to bringing violent offenders before the courts and keeping our communities safe."
The RT&CIPF said it remains committed to investigating serious crimes, supporting victims and their families, and ensuring offenders are held accountable through the criminal justice system.
