Universal Postal Union Conducts Training with TCI Postal Staff

Universal Postal Union conducted training with the Turks and Caicos Islands Postal Staff in IPS Post Systems, Advance Customs Declaration System (EAD) and TrackIT System at the George Brown Post Office Building, Providenciales from the 17th of August to the 21st of October 2026.

For the edification of the public, IPS. Post System is an operational module for processing inbound and outbound international mail, which allows customers to track express or registered mail and parcels to their destination.

Advance Customs Declaration System (EAD) is a global postal system requiring a customs declaration to be completed electronically at the posting of all items shipped through the postal system. It gives the customs officials in the destination country all the information they need to complete their inspections.

The TrackIT System is an App used to track packages and parcels only, through the Postal Network. Customers will have to download the App in order to track their packages and parcels.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Carlos Carballada a Postal Consultant and Specialist from the Universal Postal Union. The successful completion of this important training has now thrust the Turks and Caicos Islands Postal Service into the digital sphere as the Post Office has now entered a stage of advanced digitalisation. At the end of the training certificates were issued to each participant.

The Minister responsible for the Postal Service, Hon. Shaun D. Malcolm, commended Postmaster General Mrs. Elizabeth James and her team for their continued efforts to modernise and advance postal services in the Turks and Caicos Islands. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to Mr. Carlos Carballada and the Universal Postal Union for facilitating the training and providing valuable technical support.

Hon. Malcolm noted that the training and introduction of these digital systems represent an important step towards strengthening the capacity of the Postal Service, meeting international standards and advancing the Government’s goal of delivering a modern, efficient and reliable 21st-century Postal Service.
