A Wheeland man has been found guilty in the Supreme Court on Monday, April 22, 2024, for the murder of a Leeward Palms resident, and will know his fate at the early part of the summer.

Kendell Dean, 28, is scheduled to be sentenced on June10, by His Lordship Justice Davidson Kevin Baptiste. Â Dean was found guilty by a jury for the murder of Joshua Swann of Leeward Palms. Swann, 23, was shot multiple times at the junction of Millennium Highway and Malcolms Beach Road on the evening of 8 August 2021.

Following investigation by crime sleuths from the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force, Dean was picked up and later charged him with Swann’s murder.

King’s Counsel Attorney, Oliver Smith, led Dean’s defense, while the Crown was represented by Quinn Hawkins and Catherine Duncan.
