Wilsony Charles' Five-Goal Haul Powers Academy Eagles to 11-0 Rout of Provo United

A magnificent five-goal haul from Wilsony Charles carried Academy Eagles FC to an emphatic 11-0 mauling of Provo United SC in Match No. 3 of the Pelican Energy League Under-16 Boys competition.

Charles delivered a sensational second-half performance, finding the back of the net five times as Academy Eagles produced one of the most dominant displays of the season to remain in control from the opening whistle to the final minute.

The Eagles got off to a dream start when Dudley Mintus opened the scoring just two minutes into the contest. Harephson Saintus doubled the advantage in the 11th minute before Morvens Joseph added a third in the 29th minute, giving Academy Eagles a comfortable 3-0 lead at the halftime break.

Academy Eagles continued their relentless attacking pressure after the restart. Garin Bescoby added a fourth goal in the 39th minute before Lorenzi Smith struck a minute later to extend the lead.

Mintus completed his brace in the 49th minute, but it was Charles who stole the spotlight with a devastating scoring spree. He opened his account in the 46th minute before adding four more goals in the 60th, 62nd, 64th and 65th minutes to complete an impressive five-goal performance and cap a memorable outing for the Eagles.

Provo United battled throughout the encounter but struggled to contain the Academy Eagles attack and were unable to break through a disciplined Eagles defense.

The match saw four cautions issued by the referee. Provo United's Mike Dudley was booked in the 31st minute, while teammate Damari Wilson received a yellow card in the 63rd minute. Academy Eagles also had two players cautioned, with Dudley Mintus shown a yellow card in the 22nd minute and Lorenzi Smith booked in the 67th minute.

Despite the heavy defeat, Provo United's Ben-Acely Toussaint was named his team's Most Valuable Player for his determined efforts throughout the match.
