A. Louise Garland Thomas High School in Long Bay, Providenciales has been crowned champions of the 2026 Sports Commission Inter-High School Track and Field Championship following a commanding performance over two days of competition held on Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28.

The Providenciales-based institution delivered a dominant display throughout the meet, finishing comfortably at the top of the standings with an impressive total of 58 medals. Their medal tally included 26 gold, 18 silver and 14 bronze medals, giving them the highest number of gold medals and securing the overall championship title.
From the opening events on the track to the final field competitions, athletes from A. Louise Garland Thomas High School demonstrated strength, speed and consistency. Their ability to secure podium finishes across multiple events allowed the school to build an early lead and maintain control of the championship standings throughout the two-day meet.
Clement Howell High School finished in second place overall after collecting 37 medals, including 16 gold, 13 silver and eight bronze medals. The school produced several strong performances on the track and in field events, allowing them to remain competitive and secure the runner-up position.
Helena J. Robinson High School also delivered an impressive showing during the competition. The school recorded one of the highest overall medal counts with 43 medals in total, consisting of 10 gold, 14 silver and 19 bronze medals. Their athletes consistently placed in medal positions, contributing to one of the most balanced performances among the participating schools.
British West Indies Collegiate also featured prominently among the top-performing schools. The institution finished the championship with 25 medals overall, including 11 gold, eight silver and six bronze medals. Their athletes performed strongly in several sprint and field events, adding to the high level of competition throughout the meet.
Raymond Gardiner High School finished with a total of 23 medals, including one gold, nine silver and 13 bronze medals, while Marjorie Basden High School secured 17 medals with four gold, seven silver and six bronze.
Wesley Methodist School also made its presence felt at the championship, finishing with eight medals overall, including three gold, three silver and two bronze medals.
Precious Treasures International School earned seven medals, including four gold, one silver and two bronze medals. International School finished with three medals, while Maranatha Academy secured two bronze medals. Quality Athletics rounded out the medal standings with one gold medal.
The 2026 Sports Commission Inter-High School Track and Field Championship brought together student athletes from across the Turks and Caicos Islands, highlighting the growing depth of athletic talent among the nation’s youth. Over the two days of competition, athletes competed in a full slate of track and field events including sprints, middle-distance races, relays, jumps and throws.
Spectators were treated to exciting races and competitive performances as schools battled for medals and valuable championship points. The event also served as an opportunity for young athletes to showcase their abilities while representing their schools with pride.
