Her Excellency Dame Cynthia "Mother" Pratt, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, will serve as the keynote speaker at the 2026 Turks and Caicos Islands National Prayer Breakfast, a landmark event commemorating 50 Years of Ministerial Governance in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The National Prayer Breakfast, organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Public Safety, Gender and Religious Affairs, and Social Welfare, led by Hon. Shaun Malcolm, will bring together government officials, religious leaders, members of the diplomatic corps, the private sector, and the wider community for a morning of worship, reflection, and national unity.
This year's theme, "Faith in Our Journey, Hope for Our Future," is inspired by Jeremiah 29:11 and reflects the nation's journey over the past five decades while looking ahead with optimism and purpose.
Governor-General Pratt, affectionately known throughout The Bahamas as "Mother" Pratt, is expected to deliver a keynote address centered on faith, servant leadership, resilience, and the role of spiritual values in national development. Her participation underscores the close historical and cultural ties shared between The Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
The 2026 National Prayer Breakfast carries added significance as it forms part of the official observance of the 50th anniversary of Ministerial Governance, celebrating the evolution of democratic leadership and the enduring partnership between faith and public service in shaping the nation's progress.
The annual event continues to serve as one of the country's premier national observances, offering an opportunity for leaders and citizens alike to seek God's guidance and blessings for the future of the Turks and Caicos Islands while reaffirming the values of unity, hope, and service.
