“Dope Baby” TCI’s 10th Murder

Derrick Missick, otherwise called ‘Dope Baby’ of a Kew Town address has become the 10th murder since the start of the year.


Missisk was gunned down in Kew Town, Providenciales, midafternoon on Tuesday, by unknown assailants.


The Royal Turks, and Caicos Islands reported that Missick was killed in the vicinity of the Pink Bar and Musgrove Close.


According to police reports, informed reached 911 of shots being fired in the area, an upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of a male, later identified as Derrick Missick, lying on the ground in a pool of blood, with apparent gunshot wounds.


Shortly after the discovery of Derrick Missick's body, the police received information that a male and a female had sought medical attention for gunshot wounds at the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre. The authorities have initiated investigations into both incidents to determine their connection and gather leads on the perpetrators.


The Commissioner of Police (ag), Rodney Adams, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the victim's family and described the events of the day as heart-wrenching. He assured the public that the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force are dedicating all necessary resources to apprehend the criminals responsible for this violence and bring them to justice.


Commissioner Adams urgently appealed to the community to collaborate with law enforcement in their efforts to prevent crime and maintain public safety. He urged those with information on illegal activities or the identities of the assailants to come forward and assist in apprehending the perpetrators.


The community of Kew Town and the entire Providenciales island is shaken by these senseless acts of violence. Residents are encouraged to support the police in their investigations, as community cooperation is vital in solving crimes and ensuring the safety of all law-abiding citizens.


As the investigation progresses, the authorities said they would be working tirelessly to establish the circumstances surrounding these tragic events and provide answers to the grieving families and concerned residents.
