The FortisTCI-sponsored Under 17 Elite Youth Co-Ed Football League begins on Saturday, May 21, starting at 9:00 a.m. at the TCIFA National Academy, adjacent to Graceway Sports Center.
Eight teams from across the island chain will compete every weekend for the next seven weeks.
They are Grand Turk Dolphin, Provo Jaguars, Provo Falcons, North Caicos Seales, South Caicos Mariners, Provo Eagles, Grand Turk Dynamos and Provo Lions.
Eight matches will be played in Saturday’s kick-off. In the opening fixtures the South Caicos Mariners will play host to defending champions the Provo Eagles and the Provo Falcons will go up against last season's second place team the Provo Lions, beginning at 10.m.
The second fixture of the day beginning at 11a.m. will see the North Caicos Seals matching skills against the Grand Turk Dynamos, while last season's third place team the Provo Jaguars taking on the Grand Turk Dolphin.
The Provo Falcons and the North Caicos Seals will square-off, so too will be the battle for the soul of Grand Turk, as the Dolphin square-off against the Dynamo, both matches begin at 1p.m.
The final round of matches for the day, which begin at 2p.m., will see the Provo Lions battling the Provo Eagles, and the Provo Jaguars facing South Caicos Mariners.
The tournament is hosted in partnership with the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association (TCIFA) and provides an opportunity for over 100 players to showcase their athletic skills.
This year’s league promotes even more diversity with the inclusion of female players on every team.
