Graceway Communities, the charitable arm of Graceway Supermarkets, successfully hosted its 6th Annual Earth Day Fair under the theme “Our Power, Our Planet: A Strong, Sustainable Community Future,” bringing together hundreds of residents, environmental partners, government leaders, and local businesses in a shared commitment to environmental stewardship.

The event, held at the Graceway IGA parking lot, was honored by the presence of Her Excellency Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam, The Governor of the TCI, along with Her Excellency Anya Williams, The Deputy Governor of the TCI. Also in attendance were Hon. Kyle Knowles, Hon. Shawn Malcolm, and Hon. Jamel Robinson, reflecting strong national support for sustainability initiatives and environmental awareness.
Throughout the day, attendees engaged with interactive exhibits, educational displays, and hands-on activities designed to promote conservation, sustainable living, and environmental responsibility across the Turks and Caicos Islands. A strong emphasis was placed on youth engagement, with student-led interviews encouraging the next generation to take an active role in protecting the environment.
The event featured a dynamic lineup of environmental partners and exhibitors, including Roots2Reef, Pelican Energy TCI, RENU Energy TCI, Nikki’s Trinkets, the Turks and Caicos Environmental Club, and Turks and Caicos Horticulture (TCH).

Additional support was provided by the Environmental Health Department, Grace Bay Resorts Foundation, and COMO Parrot Cay, along with local agricultural and small business partners such as R&A Farm, The Green Room, Caicos Acres, Annette Solomon, and Sylvia’s Local Treats.
The event also featured a live radio broadcast by 88 Jamz, allowing the wider community to tune in and engage with the day’s activities and conversations around sustainability.
A total of $3,265.00 was raised in support of this year’s official charity partner, Roots2Reef. All funds will contribute directly to environmental education initiatives, marine conservation efforts, and community outreach programs aimed at preserving the natural beauty of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Statement from Edith Cox, Executive Board Member, Graceway Communities:
“Earth Day is more than a single moment; it is a reminder of the responsibility we share every day to protect and preserve our environment. At Graceway Communities, we are proud to create spaces where education, collaboration, and community come together to inspire meaningful action. The support from our partners, government leaders, and the wider community reflects a shared commitment to building a sustainable future for the Turks and Caicos Islands.”
Graceway Communities has extended sincere thanks to all partners, volunteers, and attendees who contributed to the success of this year’s event and continue to support initiatives that strengthen and uplift the community.
