Minister of Tourism, Hon. Zhavargo Jolly, welcomed the recognition, describing it as a proud moment for the destination.

“This recognition by USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards puts a well-deserved spotlight on Grand Turk and everything that makes it special,  its history, its people, and its unmistakable character. Being named among the top ten Caribbean islands to visit in 2026 affirms Grand Turk’s growing appeal not just as a cruise destination, but as a place visitors want to experience, explore, and return to.

“As we welcome more than one million cruise passengers annually, we remain focused on elevating Grand Turk through thoughtful investment, heritage preservation, and experiences that allow the island to shine on its own terms.”

Grand Turk welcomed over one million cruise passengers in 2025 and, as the diving capital of the Turks and Caicos Islands, continues to attract divers from around the world to experience its renowned 7,000-foot wall.

Interim CEO Consultant of Experience Turks and Caicos, Mr. Paul Pennicook, noted a strategic push to increase stayover visitation to the island.

“As we continue to emphasise our multi-island destination, we are actively encouraging visitors who arrive in Providenciales to explore our sister islands. Grand Turk, with its whale-watching, diving and other marine activities, deep history, and authentic community vibe, is a jewel in our archipelago.

“Experience Turks and Caicos remains committed to enhancing and developing tourism products that will attract more visitors and increase visitor spend,” Mr. Pennicook said.

The Turks and Caicos Islands also earned recognition across several other USA Today 10Best categories, with Ambergris Cay Private Island Resort voted #7 Best All-Inclusive Caribbean Resort, Da Conch Shack ranked #9 Best Caribbean Beach Bar, The Sands at Grace Bay placed #4 Best Caribbean Resort, The Royal Turks and Caicos Golf Course voted #2 Best Caribbean Golf Course, and Bambarra Rum ranked #10 Best Caribbean Rum.
