Major Promotions Across Police Force as 46 Officers Advance

The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) has announced the promotion of forty-six officers, marking the largest promotion exercise undertaken by the Force in recent times.

In a media release issued on April 2, 2026, the RT&CIPF confirmed that six officers were promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent, fifteen to Inspector, and twenty-five to Sergeant.

The Force stated that all officers successfully completed a rigorous promotion process, which included examinations assessed by the University of the West Indies campuses in Barbados and Jamaica, along with a comprehensive interview stage conducted by a panel of key stakeholders within the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Final selections were made following consultation with the Force Executive, with recommendations submitted to the Governor for confirmation. A formal Force Order has since been issued.

Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey described the officers as “competent, capable, and talented,” noting that the promotions reflect a careful assessment of leadership potential and will strengthen the Force’s supervisory structure and operational effectiveness. He also highlighted the increasing number of women stepping into leadership roles as a positive sign of progress toward a more inclusive police service.
