Ministry and Department of Education Mourn the Passing of Mrs. Denise Kanhai-Gupta

The Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture and the Department of Education join the staff, students, parents, and wider school community of the Enid Capron Primary School in mourning the passing of Mrs. Denise Kanhai-Gupta.

Hon. Rachel Taylor, Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture, expressed profound sadness at the news, noting that Mrs. Kanhai-Gupta's dedication to teaching and commitment to her students made her an invaluable member of the Enid Capron Primary School family.

"Mrs. Denise Kanhai-Gupta devoted her life to nurturing young minds and inspiring excellence in the classroom. She believed deeply in the potential of every child and worked tirelessly to help her students grow academically, socially, and personally. Her kindness and professionalism, though her tenure at Enid Capron Primary School was brief, left a deep and lasting impression on many within the school community and across the education sector.

On behalf of the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture, I extend heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Kanhai-Gupta's family, friends, colleagues, students, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn this tremendous loss and celebrate a life dedicated to service, learning, and the success of others. In the wake of this loss, representatives from the Department of Education, together with members of the clergy, visited Enid Capron Primary School to offer support and participate in a special devotional service with staff. The Department also deployed counsellors to the school, providing both group and individual counselling sessions for teachers and students.
