During the two-day competition, the athletes performed admirably and brought home three medals for their school. Joshua Innocent secured two silver medals, one in Shot Put and another in Javelin, while Tamani Gardiner earned a bronze medal in Javelin. These outstanding achievements highlighted the talent and dedication of the Raymond Gardiner High School athletes on the international stage.

Among the competitors was Sevyn Louis, who is not yet a student of Raymond Gardiner High School. She competed in the Girls’ 400m (11–12 age group). Although she did not advance to the finals, the experience provided valuable exposure and learning opportunities for the young athlete.

Darnique Handfield competed in the Girls’ Long Jump (13–14 age group). While she did not qualify for the finals, she was grateful for the opportunity to compete and gain valuable experience at such a prestigious event.

The school’s male athletes also represented well:

* Jneyo Agenor competed in the Boys’ 100m and 200m (17–18 age group).

* Sanjay Cox competed in the Boys’ 200m and 400m (16–17 age group).

Reflecting on the trip, Coach Ms. Nerissa Forbes stated that participating in the Northwest Track and Field Classic was a dream she had been pursuing for the past two years.

“This is something I have wanted to do for the past two years, and I am thrilled that the dream finally became a reality. I am proud of our athletes and look forward to returning to the meet next year.”

Coach Forbes also extended heartfelt thanks to the parents, sponsors, Principal, and Vice Principal whose support, encouragement, and contributions helped make the trip possible. Their commitment to the development of young athletes played a significant role in ensuring the success of this venture.

The experience provided the athletes with an opportunity to compete against top international talent, develop their skills, and proudly represent their school and country. The team returned home with medals, unforgettable memories, and a renewed determination to continue striving for excellence in track and field.
