The Turks and Caicos Islands’ reputation as a premier luxury destination received another boost with the official launch of Saphora in Grace Bay, a mixed-use development hailed as a symbol of continued economic growth, investment confidence, and evolving lifestyle offerings in the territory.

The launch event, hosted by the Rockfin Group, brought together government officials, developers, investors, and members of the business community to celebrate what stakeholders described as more than just a retail opening, but a milestone in the ongoing transformation of Grace Bay.
Speaking at the ceremony, Acting Premier Hon. Jamell Robinson underscored the significance of the project, noting that developments of this scale reinforce the Turks and Caicos Islands’ global appeal.
“Grace Bay is not only one of the most beautiful places in the world, it is also one of the most sought-after destinations for premium investment,” Robinson said. “Projects such as Saphora reaffirm the strength of our brand and the confidence that international investors continue to place in our islands.”
The Saphora development is spearheaded by the Rockfin Group, led by its founder Fio Mayil, a long-time resident and investor in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The group has been instrumental in several high-end projects, including the Amaris Grace Bay development under Hilton’s LXR Hotels and Resorts brand.
Robinson emphasized that the government remains committed to facilitating responsible, high-quality developments that not only enhance the tourism product but also create meaningful opportunities for residents.
“Our vision extends beyond individual developments,” he said. “Sustained success depends on stronger collaboration between government, developers, investors, tourism stakeholders, and most importantly, our people.”
Developer Fio Mayil, in his remarks, highlighted the company’s deep connection to the islands, stressing that the project represents more than an investment.
“We did not come here just to build, we came here to belong,” Mayil said. “Everything we create here is built with love, respect, and appreciation for the people of this island.”
He described Saphora Grace Bay as a long-term commitment to the future of the Turks and Caicos Islands and its community.
Also addressing the gathering, Robert Greenwood of Christie’s International Real Estate Turks and Caicos noted the evolution of Grace Bay over the years and the growing sophistication of the local real estate market.
He pointed to developments like Saphora as part of a “new breed” of real estate offerings that are attracting a wider, more diverse demographic of investors and residents.
“Grace Bay has evolved tremendously,” Greenwood said. “What we are seeing now is a transition that opens the Turks and Caicos Islands to new opportunities and new audiences.”
The Saphora launch reflects broader trends shaping the territory, including increased foreign investment, expansion of luxury retail, and continued demand for upscale living and tourism experiences.
Organizers described the project as a destination where “lifestyle, convenience, and investment opportunity converge,” reinforcing Grace Bay’s standing as one of the Caribbean’s most vibrant and desirable locations.
