Youth Tribunal Returns for Second Edition with Focus on Culture, History and Future Leadership

The Youth Tribunal will return for its second edition on Wednesday, 23 September 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Hall, Providenciales, bringing together young people, government representatives, private-sector leaders, community stakeholders and members of the public for an evening of youth-led national dialogue.

This year’s Tribunal will explore the topic: “How Can TCI Preserve Its Culture and History While Preparing Young People to Lead the Future?”

The Youth Tribunal is a youth-led, non-partisan civic engagement initiative designed to provide young people across the Turks and Caicos Islands with a professional platform to share perspectives, examine national challenges and propose practical solutions.

Interest in this year’s event has been strong, with all 20 speaker spaces filled and additional applicants placed on a waitlist.

Unlike a traditional debate, the Youth Tribunal is designed to function as a youth think tank, encouraging participants not only to identify challenges, but also to present realistic recommendations, policy ideas and solutions. Following the event, key recommendations emerging from the discussion will be compiled and shared with relevant government stakeholders for consideration.

“The Youth Tribunal is about creating meaningful space for young people to contribute to the national conversation. We want participants to leave knowing that their ideas, experiences and solutions matter, and that young people have an important role to play in shaping the future of the Turks and Caicos Islands,” said Christanae Lewis, Youth Tribunal Executive Committee member.

The tribunal will also feature youth hosts, cultural performances, media coverage and participation from representatives across government, business and civil society.

The event is supported by a growing group of corporate and community partners, including Grant Thornton TCI and TCBC as Streaming Partners, alongside Platinum Partners Fleuridor Architects, Concrete Insight, Caicos Isles, Provo Water and Marlin Ltd, among other supporters.

Members of the public are invited to attend, with advance registration encouraged due to limited seating.
