Musgrove shared the organization’s work in Advocacy, highlighting its close collaboration with Government and the Ministry of Tourism through the significant changes and occurrences faced by the destination last year.

Cox shared key points on the work accomplishments of the TCHTA’s various sub-committees, recognizing the contribution of the members, Board of Directors, and staff in promoting the growth and development of the tourism sector in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Both Cox and Musgrove endorsed the country’s move to a Destination Marketing and Management Organization (DMMO) and shared the government’s transparency and inclusive approach throughout the consultancy and planning stages.

Updates were delivered by the organization’s Finance Committee Co-Chair, Aisha Laporte, and its Marketing Chair, Karen Whitt. Once the business component of the meeting came to a close, the Board of Directors for the 2021- 2023 term was officially retired by CEO Cox, and the collection of ballots and counting began.

Rather than the usual Guest Speaker, the association featured a panel discussion at this year’s AGM with a conversation that focused on “Connection and Collaboration”.

Panellists were a blend of Accommodation and Allied (non-accommodation) Members, with a vibrant discussion on how larger entities can support smaller service providers, and how both can effectively work together for the overall benefit of the sector’s growth and success.

The evening ended with tokens presented to the outgoing Board by CEO Cox, and acceptance remarks delivered by President McAnally. He expressed his gratitude for the confidence placed in him and his new team. He pledged to work closely with the members and stakeholders of the association to promote the interests and protection of the tourism industry in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The association extends thanks to its members for their participation in the nomination and voting process. Special thanks were also shared with the Board of the Salvation Army and the Beaches Resort team for sponsoring the venue and catering for the evening, respectively.
