TCI Records 24th COVID Death

The Turks and Caicos Islands has recorded its 24th COVID-19 death, the Minister for Health and Human Services Hon. Jamell Robinson announced on Thursday.


Minister Robinson, speaking at a news conference on Thursday at the launch of the Let’s Move Turks and Caicos Fitness Campaign, at the Premier’s Office in Providenciales, stated that the individual was asymptomatic.


“I am sad to report the TCIs 24th COVID-19 related death. On Wednesday, November 24th 2021, an individual known to be positive for COVID-19 but was asymptomatic, died in Providenciales. The individual was asymptomatic at the time of passing and known to have multiple comorbidities,” Minister announced.


He added: “Immediate relatives and other stakeholders have been notified. The thoughts and prayers of the Ministry of Health and myself are with the family and friends of this individual. May their soul rest in peace and rise in glory.”


The Minister used the opportunity to hold a moment of silence as a result.
